SHIRLEY LOW was born in Malaysia and came to the U.S. in 1998. She is a Certified Chef—a graduate of The Natural Gourmet Institute For Health & Culinary Arts. She was a chef at Pan Pange in New York City, where she specialized in preparing vegan cuisine. At Jivamukti Cafe, she developed a line of vegan cupcakes, vegan cookies and gluten free, sugar-free cakes. She has also worked at such well-known New York City natural restaurants as Zen Palate and Pure Food and Wine, as well as Veggie Heaven in Montclair, New Jersey.
Shirley is committed to finding only the freshest produce for her cuisine, which she finds while shopping the farmers markets in the New York City area. She is a committed vegan and stresses compassion for all animals, which she believes should be treated with respect for life. Shirley brings a passionate commitment to the quality and integrity of the food she makes. She is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.
